Project Feature: Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center
Sentech’s latest project feature is the landmark Vision Northland development at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota. As the largest private investment in Duluth’s history, the $900 million healthcare campus represents a transformative step forward in patient care and community investment.
Designed by EwingCole, the project adds approximately 942,000 square feet of new clinical and public space, creating a state-of-the-art healthcare environment while supporting Essentia Health’s long-term vision for the region. Sentech was selected to engineer and supply the signature structural glass systems that define the campus’s main public lobby spaces. Utilizing our proprietary VetraFin-S steel suspended structural glass wall system, we delivered three monumental structural glass enclosures, soaring 35-ft tall and totaling 6,758 sq-ft, which created an open, welcoming experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

The success of this complex installation was made possible through close collaboration among Essentia Health, EwingCole, the construction team, and Sentech’s engineering and design professionals. Through advanced structural analysis, detailed engineering, and specialty glazing expertise, Sentech helped bring this iconic architectural feature to life.
We are proud to have played a role in a project that will serve the Duluth community for generations and showcase how innovative structural glass solutions can support both architectural vision and exceptional healthcare environments.
