Located near New York City’s Battery park in Manhattan, One State Street Plaza is a 33-story commercial office building underwent its first lobby renovation since original construction in 1970. The centerpiece of the renovation is a 20-foot-plus-tall structural glass façade utilizing Sentech’s proprietary VetraSpan system. Unlike traditional structural glass walls that rely on vertical glass fins or steel support members, the VetraSpan system allows full-height glass panels to span the entire two-story opening without visible vertical supports. The result is an exceptionally clean and minimalist façade that maximizes transparency while maintaining structural performance.
Working alongside Perkins Eastman Architects, Sentech helped bring a vision of openness, transparency, and contemporary elegance to one of Lower Manhattan’s most recognizable office properties. By eliminating visual obstructions, the new façade creates a seamless connection between the interior lobby and the surrounding cityscape. Natural light floods the renovated space, enhancing the lobby’s scale and creating an inviting environment for tenants and visitors alike. The expansive glass wall transforms the building’s ground-floor experience, opening the lobby to the energy of the streets surrounding Battery Park and reinforcing the property’s position as a premier Class A office destination.
